My first bag

Hi All,

Thanks for all the lovely comments re. my last project.

Earlier this year I decided to buy myself a sewing machine. Now I don't have a great history with sewing machines, was rubbish using them at school, and used to staple my hems up when them came undone. But on one of the last Artsycraft weekends we used one to make a fabric book, which I really enjoyed.

I haven't really used it much (i.e. not at all apart from two basis classes at the local sewing shop), but decided to sign up to a bag making class. The class was a bit of a challenge but I really enjoyed making it, and will be making another one soon.

Sorry for the bad photos, was hard to take a photo of the bag. The bag has pockets both inside and out.

I hope to use my new found sewing skills ;) in another project soon

JoFY workshop

Today I took a workshop with Jo Firth Young in which we used her stamps designed for Paper Artsy, along with Fresco paints.

We created a canvas which we painted, stamped & stenciled with paints & Inks. We also used the brilliant Grunge paste, which I coloured with the paints. This built up the layers & depth. We also stamped up three flowers on to card and cut out - I'm sure that Jo chose the hardest flower to cut out for us!

Jo had diecut some letters & a clock face for us to use. As we were using a clock I decided to make mine into a real clock, hence why in the picture mine had no hands as waiting for hubby to come home to drill a hole for me.

I had a great day and picked up lots of tips. I love Jo's stamps.

I think I will add a Jo butterfly on to the top left corner, and still the hands to finish it off.
